Vintage Stetson black bowler hat dating from the 1920's marked "Barnaby's Select". Made of beaver fur felt with the harder, more rigid finish typical of bowlers. Tagged size 7. This is a lighter-weight bowler for summer use, and it has the ventilated crown best seen in the last photo. Neat old Stetson sticker inside the crown along with original owner's initials.
Hat is in good condition, but as noted in the title the leather sweatband has been removed. No rips, dents, creases or damage to the felt. The hat has maintained its shape well. The grosgrain around the edge of the brim has developed a little sheen or shininess from handling as seen in several of the photos. The 1 1/8" wide ribbon has a faded spot in front best seen in photos 1 and 8. Odor neutral.
Inside diameter is 22 1/8" (no sweatband), side-to-side measures 6 1/8" and the front-to-back measurement is 7 3/4".
