    Description

    This golden eyed toad was carved from this beautiful Sugi Cryptomeria wood (also known as Japanese cedar). The village of Samegai in Japan was known to produce such works starting in the 1950s. The manner in which its carved form brilliantly corresponds to the patterns in the grain of the wood is quite mesmerizing. The bottom has a gold and yellow sticker marked "Japan". Frogs are known to bring good luck in Asian culture.
    The amphibian has a round bumpy carved texture, raised areas above the eyes and carved feet that are tucked under his body. This guy measures approx. 6 inches x 5 inches and 3 1/2 inches tall.
