Vintage Japanese White & Gild Kutani Tokashi Porcelain Couple

This amazing pair of figurines are in excellent condition . I found this treasure at an estate sale and wish I knew more of their history. The male figure stands 12.5” tall and width is 7”. He weighs 3.5 pounds. The pastel colors in his robe are highlighted by gold trim and an embossed texture of hand painted flowers. The female figurine is 10.5” in height,5.5” wide and weighs 3 pounds . Her robes are also pastel pink and blue, trimmed in gold with the embossed floral pattern. She is holding a light wooden broom and her partner is holding a rake. From what I can find they represent unity and harmony in marriage. A truly stunning set of figurines !
