    Description

We are offering for your bid 2 soft-covered W. Watson and Sons, Ltd., London, England, catalogues titled “
    Microscopes and Their Accessories, Parts 1 & 2, 1923
    ” and “
    Microscopes, Parts 1 & 2, 1926.
”  The 1923 catalogue consists of 140 numbered pages and is in good condition with the exception of the front cover binding which is pulling loose (photo #3), The 1926 example consists of 160 numbered pages and is in god condition with binding fully attached.  Each measures approximately 6 x 8 5/8 inches (see all 12 photos).
The information  and illustrations contained within these pages is valuable for understanding the scientific functioning of antique microscopes. There are also pictures of The Tool Room and The Machine Shop in Watson’s Works in High Barnet.  Watson & Sons were the largest manufactures of telescopes in Great Britain in the early 20th century. They have earned a world wide reputation for excellence.
Within the pages of these catalogs are described and photographed a wide variety of microscopes, power objectives, eye pieces, photograph lenses, dissecting microscopes, binocular magnifiers and more, along with the prices quoted for the various items in the two catalogues printed almost 100 years ago.  These catalogues were used to supply microscopes and accessories to doctors, hospitals, laboratories, scientists, schools and universities.  Now they deserve to be included in libraries and the private collections of laboratory, scientific and medical collectors and historians.
We are selling these two books together without reserve
