Play the different brands, styles and materials of push in mouthpipes in your coarse threaded slide receiver.
We have developed a series of smooth bore coarse OD threaded rings that graduate in .002 increments with a taper that matches the OD of push in leadpipes (mouthpipes).
This allows each adapter, from "small" to "XXL" to each fit .040 farther up the leadpipe so you can get the best fit with the least gap.  The different thicknesses of materials and slight differences in the manufacturing process causes small differences in the OD of the leadpipes, we solved the variance problem with a five piece set that we make in small, medium, large, XL, and XXL.
These work on large bore tenor or bass horns, .562 or .547 slides.
