A superb & fantastic Antique 19th Century Russian Caucasian Dagger
+ with Silver Hallmarks 84 & dated 1891
This was purchased from the grandson of  Russian General & has been in A family until Now...
A beautiful blade with Islamic silver writing & beautiful Silver Work On Scabbard.
Interesting to note this could have been use as a defense weapon during
the Russian famine of 1891- 92 began along the Volga River,
& then spread as far as the Urals and Black Sea.
The famine caused 375,000 to 500,000 deaths.
The reawakening of Russian Marxism and populism is often traced to the public's anger
at the Tsarists government's poor handling of the disaster.
