The riel is the currency of Cambodia. There have been two distinct riel, the first issued between 1953 and May 1975. Between 1975 and 1980 the country had no monetary system. A second currency, also named "riel", has been issued since 20 March 1980.Cambodia is a Southeast Asian nation whose landscape spans low-lying plains, the Mekong Delta, mountains and Gulf of Thailand coastline. Angkor Wat, located in northwest Cambodia, is the largest religious structure in the form of a temple complex in the world by land area, measuring 162.6 hectares. At the center of the temple stands a quincunx of four towers surrounding a central spire that rises to a height of 65 m above the ground.
