Presented for your consideration is this interesting old field microscope. Also referred to as a scientist's pocket or portable microscope, this microscope is small and lightweight so that it could be used when out in the field. It features a brass case with a small mirror at the bottom for a light source. The mirror easily rotates with the knob on the side. Lens easily moves up and down in the tube housing to zoom in and away from the subject on the platform. The magnifying lens easily twists on and off. No other magnifying lenses are included with the microscope. On the side of the microscope it is marked with "Made in France" but there are no other markings to indicate a manufacturer. The microscope is working meaning that it can be seen through and the light source works properly. This neat microscope would make a great addition to any scientific memorabilia collection! A neat piece to use!
There are some small wear spots on the mirror. Lens and magnifying lens need a good cleaning as there looks to be debris that affects the viewing. A small wear spot is on the side of the case and some wear is around the lens casing as well. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
Measures 2" in diameter at the widest point and 6 1/8" tall.
