    Description

For sale here is a Middle Eastern jambiya dagger.  It measures about 13" from the top of the handle to the buttom of the scabbard.  It is about 6 3/4" wide.  The dagger itself is made of steel.  The handle is most likely wooden (bone?), and it is about 12" in length from top to bottom.  The scabbard is leather, but on the top side is  featured an intricate silver filigree design.  Please look at the photos here as they can better describe this jambiya than I can using words.  There are two gold colored medallions on the handle which may be a maker's mark.   Jambiya daggers like this frequently can be found in Yemen, Oman and Saudi Arabia.  However, I'm not sure where this was made.  We have made no attempt to clean it in any way.  The photos show it "as found."  Sold here with no reserve above the opening bid.
I have liquidated estates for over 40 years.   I have been using eBay for the past few years  to help liquidate items, many of which come from assisted living communities where estate sales cannot be held out of concern for the security for the other residents.   I strive to be accurate in my listing descriptions.  If you have a question or concern about any item, please contact me BEFORE making an offer.   Payment is appreciated and expected within 24 hours of purchase.  I will usually ship out the item the following day using USPS Priority Mail or FedEx Home Delivery.   The postage shown in my listing is ONLY AN ESTIMATE.   The actual amount may be higher or lower depending on the location of the buyer.  Please wait for an invoice before making payment, if possible.   The invoice should correctly reflect the amount of postage to your zip code.  Also, upon receiving your item in the mail, you have TWO DAYS to report any damage which occurred during transit. I DO NOT SELL INTERNATIONALLY. However, there are a few countries that I WILL ship to using the International Shipping Program offered by eBay.  My liability for damage, however, ends when the item reaches their headquarters. If you are an individual or company that re-ships items to other parts of the world, my liability for damage will end once the package arrives at the United States address you provide.    Also sales tax will be collected by eBay when required by individual states.
