Description
I am selling a lot of two Shisa, lion like figurines, used to ward off evil spirits in Okinawa, Japan. They were introduced to Okinawa from Chica around the 14
th
century. Now Shisa can be seen on roofs or at gates of Okinawan houses or business in all shapes, colors, and sizes.
People display two Shisa, one with its mouth open to scare off evil spirits, and the other one with its mouth closed to keep the good spirits in.
I personally brought these home from Okinawa when I visited my son on the island.
These particular figurines are made of clay and measure approximately 4 ½” long and 3 ½” high.
No issues.
Time for them to have a new home.
