This is a rare Japanese Kutani Pottery SHINTO SHRINE Torii Gate, a fine decorative work of art.
This Kutani figurine:
- is nicely modeled and styled in the Kutani style with a color palette with white background decorated with iron red, aqua, black, yellow, green, brown, and gold gilding;
-
is a Japanese Kutani pottery model of a shrine gate. On the front steps are two large
Minogames
, spirit turtles with hairy tails, known as spirits of longevity. There are two colorful parrots perched on the top of the roof, and a black and gold calligraphy plaque;
-has an unglazed underside bottom, and is marked on the center with a Made in Japan mark, and the same mark in black.
