    Description

Pair Vintage Japanese Wood Kokeshi Bobble Head Dolls
This pair of Japanese bobble head dolls belonged to my mother. We lived in Japan between 1958-1962. They are in very good condition for 60+ years.
Details: Kokeshi bobble head doll figurine couple. They have hand-painted scenes on them and congee.
MAN - Hand painted is a bridge called hashi. This is a homonym for the word edge, suggesting that a bridge connects one world to another.
WOMAN - Hand painted is a Temple or Shrine. They are wearing rice hats, these don’t appear to be varnished. They stand approx. 2.75” tall.
