James W Queen Brass Microscope Philadelphia Specimen Cabinet Slides 1880’s-90’s

Antique James W Queen Brass Microscope. Marked “Universal Household Microscope, James W Queen & Co. Philadelphia”. Comes with a Specimen or slides Cabinet and misc. Slides. Circa 1880’s to 1890’s. I don’t believe the cabinet and microscope are original to each other, apparently have been together for a long time. No key to lock, cabinet doors don’t completely close. Microscope appears to be complete. Heavy wear and scratches. Wheel adjustment works. Approx. 65 slides in various condition including some with broken glass and losses. Cabinet is about 15 1/2” tall x 11 1/2” wide x 7 3/4” deep. Cabinet is mahogany with oak paneled doors. Doors slightly drag at bottom when opening/closing. Small doors with brass knobs except bottom drawer with wooden knobs. Age of cabinet unknown but does have some age. Entire lot selling “as-is” with wear and in need of tlc.
