Hakata Urasaki Man Fisherman With Fish Figurine Japan Doll Excellent 10 1/2”. Vintage. This is in great, used condition. This is perfect for the collector in your life.
I’m told he was made during the modern heyday (1950-55) by Urasaki artisan studio, one of seven such studios in the Fukoaka District of Japan. This figure is actually a "Honey Bucket" man, who collects "night soil" (human waste) and takes it to his fields as fertilizer. He is missing his balancing pole, the large scoop and his hat (thanks Paula).
It has no chips, cracks or breaks. This is shipped via USPS Ground Mail.
