Description
Vintage Hakata Japanese bisque ceramic and hand painted from the mid1950s. This one is a bento lunch carrier distributed by Lefton’s. These were originally bought as souvenirs by American soldiers at the end of the Korean War. They gained admiration in the states and were later marketed in a few stores. There was a base in Hakata, Japan where ,many of the art studios were located. This statue is 12” tall and is in very good condition with a small amount of paint loss on the bottom back. Carefully packed for a safe shipment from a smoke-free home.
