Up for auction is this gorgeous pair of vintage Japanese art pottery “shi shi” foo dog lion statue sculptures.
Heavy and with very nice detail throughout. A beautiful pair that displays well from all angles. Signed KTO Made in Japan on the bases of the feet and I believe dates to around the 1960s or 1970s.
Mid Century Modern original Japanese sculptures in excellent condition - there’s just a tiny chip to one ear’s edge on one foo dog.
They each measure about 8.7” inches tall, 6.7” inches long and 3.6” inches wide (22.1 cm, 17 cm, 9.1 cm).
Would make a fantastic pair to display, fine additions to a collection, or a great gift!
