    Description

Up for auction is an Earl Williams by Calicchio built trombone bell cutoff.  This was built back in the Tulsa era when John Duda built Calicchios in Tulsa and built some Earl Williams trombones by special order.  I was there when John Duda delivered the famous Ruby trombone to John Noxon.  Quite a day.  I was just gonna make a lamp out of this bell, but I've thought the better of it and just need it to go to someone who may be able to use it.  It will not be without challenges.  It is an 8"  flare but it was cutoff short by someone at the shop. The total length is 16"   Ol John was sick over it.  He had a small stack of them there and sold one to me.  Fast forward 10-12 years and here we are.  I've let it darken over the years and never dipped it or polished it in anyway.  I hope someone can make use of the thing.  It is the darker bell pictured.  This auction is for ONE trombone bell that is on the right.  I pictured it next to a full length Bach Mercedes II bell so you can get the idea of how short it was cut.  It is not stamped Williams.  No markings at all.  No reserve.  Posted shipping cost is for conus only.  All other US states and territories must pay the priority upcharge.
Here's a fun thing for those still reading.  Put in the opening bid, and I'll declare you the winner.   Please note, I'll be at the BOA Grand National band competition in Indianapolis after this Wednesday,.... won't be back till Sunday.  Good luck to all. John
