Greetings! I offer this respectable example of C.G. Conn's "2H Artists' Small Bore" slide trombone. Serial # 227771 indicates production in 1926. This was one of Conn's top professional horns during the Jazz Age. The closest modern horn to this is probably the Bach 6, which has a larger bore. This Conn has a #1-1/2 bore (.458), 7" brass bell with German-silver trim. This instrument has Conn's Finish #8, polished brass with no decorative engraving. There is a slide lock, but no bell lock, just an old-style friction-fit tapered tenon and socket. This is a rather collectable example, having its complete original kit (except for warranty paperwork) which includes music lyre, cleaning rod, 2 mouthpieces (Conn-Trombone and Conn-Innes) and original case in very nice condition for being almost 100 years old.
CONDITION:
Cosmetic condition is good but will be considerably improved with a good clean and polish, and a little dent repair on the bell flare. There are a couple of pings in the outer handslide which cause noticeable drags. The inner slide has plating wear and staining. The slide action really isn't that bad and could certainly be improved a lot by someone who knows what they're doing. The main tuning slide has some easily repairable dents, and is stuck and will have to be properly freed. The instrument is sold AS-IS with no warranties. See pictures. WYSIWYG.
PLAYING QUALITIES:
Although I'm primarily a trumpet and French horn player, I do play a bit of trombone, and this instrument plays with a light, bright tone that cuts and will bark when pushed, due to the small bore and light weight. NOTE that I make no representations made about its suitability for your intended use.

I haven't seen a Conn 2H in this decent shape in a long time. I think it could be made into a player. With case and complete kit, it would make a good addition to your collection
