Buddha of Compassion Yak Bone Om Mani Pendant from Nepal
Buddha of Compassion Yak Bone Om Mani Pendant from Nepal
This listing is for a yak bone pendant with the buddhist prayer for compassion, OM MANI PADME HUM, inscribed on it. The script is the mantra of Avalokteshwara, the Buddha of compassion, and it translates to "hail to the jewel in the lotus". Mani means jewel and pema means lotus. OM includes three syllables, AH, O and MA. OM can also be used as a blessing, OM AH HUM. Many Tibetan people use the powerful mantra OM AH HUM to bless food, animals, the earth, etc. Yak bone represents impermanence in Tibetan Buddhism.
