    Description

This is a tenor bass trombone by Blessing. Based on the serial (30****), it is believed to be from the early 1980s. The mouthpiece can be used with a large shank (thick tube). The instrument comes with the following items: ・Hard case (with left and right sides) Hard case (left and right locks are broken. For transportation) This is an American long-established instrument maker with a history second only to Conn, although it is not well-known in Japan. According to my research, the Artist model was the flagship model at that time, and it seems to have a high reputation in the U.S. (V.Bach 42B and V.Bach 42B and V.Bach 42B). (It is thought that it was of the same rank as the V.Bach 42B and Conn 88H.) The appearance is similar to Conn 88H. There was a time when Blessing got parts from the same supplier as Conn, so this may be from that period. The appearance is a combination of a yellow brass bell and a gold brass slide outer tube, which seems to be similar to the current Conn 88HY. The slide is spring loaded like the 88H of the same period. (The joint between the bell and the slide has been repaired. Also, there is a small area where the paint has been repainted. There are some scratches and small dents from use, but considering the age of the instrument, I think it is in beautiful condition. The inner tube of the slide is also clean, but the stocking has slight flaking of the plating due to use. In terms of functionality, the slide is good enough to run on its own if tilted slightly, but it becomes heavy when pulled out to the stocking section. The rotary is smooth and the extraction tube is not sticking. One of the solder on the F-tube has been removed (photo 8), but when I played the sound, I did not feel any strange resonance. I have maintained the instrument by simply cleaning the inner tube, greasing, replacing the rotary string, etc. It is playable, but it is not expected to work perfectly. It is playable, but if you are looking for perfect operation, it would be better to have a music store take a look at it. I personally think that the sound is clear and responsive, which is typical of yellow brass.
