Description
Unlacquered Bach 42B. The serial number on the bell section is 42XXX. It looks as if the valve knuckle that attaches to the slide receiver was previously damaged and was patched (see picture). This is the way I received the horn. The valve functions well with no leaks. The linkage is the older style 42B linkage, not the newer mini-ball. It is reliable, smooth, and with some good oil, pretty quiet. One small dent on the small 180 bend in the valve section (see picture). The bell is in really good shape and resonates well. The serial number on the slide is 96XXX. The slide is in good shape and moves fast and smooth. It is also unlacquered. It has an Amado key that functions fine. Looks like the installation of the Amado key was well done. Slide is missing the slide lock (which can be purchased readily in the aftermarket). One small dent on the end crook, which is common.
The horn plays well and resonates freely due to the lacquer being removed. I originally purchased this horn used with the intention of customizing it. But I have since abandoned that plan and would like to sell to someone who can make good use of it.
Horn is boxed and ready to ship via UPS. US shipping only.
