    Description

    Straight from our brass
    (and silver) instrument
repair shop, our USED horns are brought back to life...All major dents are removed, joints re-soldered (if needed), patches repaired (if necessary) and the slides reworked.  Our horns may be buffed, but all are hand polished to a good shine and are in
    good playable
condition.  For the collector who is looking for an instrument; we try to keep the original parts whenever possible; if the playability is good, we feel it should be left to the buyer's discretion to replace parts as desired.  We are proud to offer this refurbished instrument for sale.
We have tried to describe it as it is, and have shown what we can in the pictures allowed. We are happy to answer any questions
    asked.  #30/2016
Up for sale is an 'Artist' Elkhart Intermediate Tenor Trombone-made in Elkhart Ind. The horn has serial #224xxx. I have not been able to definitively confirm the manufacturer of the instrument, but it has a distinctive brace much like a Blessing. Based on Blessing serial numbers, the age of the horn would be 1975, but it is a guess. This could have been a stencil horn made by Blessing.  The horn is made of yellow brass and nickel silver plate. There are very few minor dings with light scratching on the instrument at the neck brace. There is some discoloration at the slide grip area and a couple of small pea-sized dents-one next to water key.  The grips are clean.  The slide action is very good and the stockings are good with low wear...a few small wear through spots.  The slide has been cleaned and honed and there is good compression, but has a residual light whisper that should improve with use and play.
This instrument is not lacquered; therefore it will need polished periodically.  The slide bore is .488/.488
and the bell flare is 8".  It comes with a mouthpiece(may not be the one pictured) and a nice large used case in good condition, but one latch is bent and cannot latch. This horn plays mellow or bright, and has lots of power--it is a good all around nice player.  It slots well, with good intonation.  It would be a good jazz lead.  Thanks for looking and check out our other items!
