This is an Outstanding Antique/Vintage Carved Carnelian Horse on it's own Carved Wood Stand that has been in my collection for about a year or so! Obviously carved by a Master, this horse is shown resting on the stand that is also perfectly carved to fit this particular piece! The Color and Transparency of this Perfect Piece of Carnelian is striking and ranges from a pale Orange to an almost blood Red! These carvings always amaze me at how someone can carve a hard stone, so small, with such precision and detail! This Horse would make a nice addition to any Asian or Horse Collection! This horse appears to be gazing peacefully as he rests, with almost a smile across it's face! Even the Wood Stand is Fascinating! It is footed and has a Mark on the bottom that appears to be "X52 or X5Z"! I am not sure of the type of wood or what the Mark on the bottom means, but perhaps one of you can enlighten me! This simple and serene carving measures about 2 inches long, 3/4 inch wide, and is 1 1/4 inches tall without the stand! The kidney shaped wood stand is 2 1/2 inches long, 1 inch wide, and is 3/4 inch tall! So all together this is 2 1/2 inches long, 1 inch wide, and is 2 inches tall! The Carnelian weighs 27.16 grams or 135.75 carats! This piece is in Mint Condition with no chips, cracks, damage, or repairs! Even the horses ears are still pointed! Please see pictures!
