Antique WWI British HEART Shaped SWEETHEART PINCUSHION decorated with Beading,
linen ribbon,
Appliqued with panels memorializing the soldier's regiment, and edged in tasseled trim. The face fabric appears to be faded silk, the back is linen, and it is very firmly stuffed.
It measures approx. 8.5" wide, plus 2.5" of fringe
.  It is in good antique condition commensurate with its age, with fading, loss of embellishments, stains, and a hole in back (see photos).
These heart-shaped pincushions were made
by British soldiers recovering in hospitals during World War I and sent to their sweethearts back home.
