    Description

Antique Tartan Ware Tape Measure/ Pincushion & Waxer
    McDuff Tartan * Circa 1870
This little Tartan ware combination piece has a waxer on the bottom, a tape measure in the middle and a pincushion on top. It was made by the W. & A. Smith Co. of Mauchline, Scotland in the 3rd to 4th quarter of the 19th century. The silk tape is original and starts at 2". Turning the top winds the tape back in and works perfectly.
The velvet pin cushion on top is original and intact with most of its nap. The wax is perfect and looks like it hasn't ever been used. The tartan has a couple of
    tiny
dings, but is in overall excellent condition with no loss or other damage.
It's gold stamped on the side with the name "McDuff" and the base is painted black with a gold zig zag border. The original paper is on the bottom.
It measures 4 1/4" high and the base is almost 1 3/8" in diameter.
I stand behind everything that I offer and
    guarantee
that it is exactly as presented.
