    Description

    Hello & welcome
This listing is for an antique Germany half doll.  Unmarked
She is incised on the back with mold numbers but they are not legible even when using a magnifying glass.
She is a very tiny half doll and is just 2 inches tall.
She is an original antique piece and comes from my private collection.
She has been entirely hand painted and was manufactured between 1909 and 1930.
Reference to this half doll may be found on page 438 in The Collector's Encyclopedia of Half -Dolls by Frieda Marion and Norma Werner (MW 612-220)
She is a Marie Antoinette style half doll.  Her hair is done in a powder with styling and she holds a fan next to her face.
She wears a pink molded bodice with white ruffles on her elbow length sleeves and a white inset with molded ruffles around the neckline.
Her fingers show quite a bit of detail and the ribs on the fan are very nicely done.
Her hair also shows a lot of details.
She comes from my families private collection.
This very petite half doll is in wonderful antique condition with NO chips, cracks or repairs.
She could use a good cleaning.  She has been packed away in a cedar chest for many, many  years and I don't think she was dusted or cleaned
when they packed up my Grandmother's collection.
She is poured in fine white porcelain and appears to be of overall nice quality.
Would make a nice addition to any half doll collection.
Finding many of this size is quite hard to do.  Especially half dolls that have good detail within the mold.
    Please view ALL PHOTOS.
..they are a large part of the description.
This listing is for the half doll shown in the first photo and corresponding photos.
The last three photos show other half dolls that I have listed for sale. They are NOT part of this listing and are NOT included.
Please visit my store for those half dolls along with many other items.

    This is
    NOT a TOY

This item is for adults.  It is collectible and not intended to be played with by small children.
I trust Buyers will rely on personal knowledge about what it is they are purchasing- or will become informed prior to purchase. Communication is key to a successful transaction.
This is why I list pages in reference book where possible.
Please understand this is an antique piece. It is not perfect or new.
When porcelain was manufactured back in the early 1900's there were tiny impurities within the slip which caused imperfections when fired such as tiny pinhead bubbles, specks, discolorations etc....
This is part of purchasing an antique and helps to not only date the piece but adds a certain character to the item that you just don't get in today's items.
These lovely pieces are a part of history....and if you are looking for perfect or new...,then maybe antiques are not for you. :)
This piece is 100 plus years old and such a wonderful part of history.
Please read some of the reviews from my previous customers to get a better idea of the products I sell and the customer service that I provide.
Message me with any questions that you may have.
Thank you for looking and have a wonderful and blessed day.
