    Description

Here we offer an original lacquered brass Constant Verick microscope, signed, "C. Verick, élève special, de E. Hartnack, rue de la Parcheminerie 2, Paris", undated, but Verick's references to his former employer, Edmund Hartnack, did not post-date 1872.  The box does bear the early serial number 1234. The microscope is in excellent condition and includes all parts shown. The silk padding in the box lid is split (please see pics,) and the box looks to have been repaired a very long time ago. The box is sound and functions perfectly, as does the lock with key. See the screen capture of the Verick microscope in the holdings of the Smithsonian.
This will make a marvelous centerpiece to your collection or a very thoughtful gift!
