19th Century Brass Traveling Botanist Field Microscope with Accessories.  This microscope is in good condition for its age with some discoloration, paint loss on the cast iron base, and it's missing the clips to hold the slides.  It does not have a box. I did not try to polish it, I'll leave that up to the buyer. The double sided mirror has no chips or cracks, the mechanism moves up & down smoothly.  I am not an expert on microscopes, so bear with me. I don't know know if anything else is missing, it is being sold "AS IS", so please look at the photos closely & use the zoom.  Unfortunately, it does not have a makers' mark.  I saw someone else refer to a similar microscope as a Beck, but I really don't know.  It comes apart for easier traveling. (and shipping)  It measures 14 3/4" high with the eyepiece.  It comes with 5 specimen slides marked: Inner lining of young, Hair of ....( I can't make it out), wing of butterfly, foot of centipede and scales of sole.  The accessories include a small brass hand pocket botanical magnifier, two eyepieces, (not including the one on the microscope) four brass canisters with lids that say: 1/4" (empty), Analyser which has a lens attached to the inside of the lid, 2 & 1 inch, which has a lens in it and Polarizer which has a lens in it. There is a lens on the microscope that will be removed for shipping.  There's also an attachment that I don't know what it is.  It's a beautiful antique microscope for any science collector or microscope restorer.   Displays beautifully.
