Pre-owned. From an estate. This brooch appears to have once held a bale to wear as a pendant. Also, the pin and mechanism look like replacements at one time. You could have your jeweler add a bale so it could be worn as a pendant again. The backside was tested and is sterling silver. The gold was tested and is 14K yellow gold. There are dents to the gold and also many dents and a tear at one end. An etched "VIIII" is on the backside. This piece measures 1 1/2" x 1 1/16". Weighs 8.7 grams. There is a hinged window on the back where a memorial piece would have been placed into like hair or a photo. The window has a crack.
