    Description

    A good Martin-type drum microscope with the uncommun signature “Macrae / 34 Aldgate St” forr Henry Macrae. Accordinc to Clifton (Directory of British Scientific instrument makers, 150-1851), Macrae was active to this address from 1839 to 1875. We can date the instrument from the 1840s’.
    The microscope preserves 6 objectives numbered 1 to 6 (the number 1 lost his lens), its stage tweezer, its live-boxe, a glass tube, a brass box for mica, a magnifier et two bone slides.
    The microscope is in perfect working order. It was formely polished.
    The nice box measures 27,5x14x8,5 cm.
