This hand colored glass slide is an ORIGINAL and it is NOT a reproduction. It was created to be projected onto the movie theatre screen before the film was released to promote the "coming attraction". Some people in the movie collectible world have said, that, glass slides are much rarer than the paper poster memorabilia from the same film and are very rare pieces of film history.

Plot Summary:
The Peppers - widowed Mrs. Pepper and her five children Polly, Ben, Joey, Davie and Phronsie - have returned to live in their small house in Gusty Corners with J.H. King, who they call "Grandpa King", J.H.'s grandson Jasper King, and their faithful butler Martin, while J.H. proceeds to have another mansion in Gusty Corners built in which they all can live more comfortably. But Jasper's aunt, Martha Wilcox, is still wanting custody of Jasper, and will go to court to get that custody. Jasper, who knows nothing about his aunt's legal manoeuvrings, would prefer to live with his grandfather and the Peppers. J.H. believes she may have a case especially as they live in the Pepper's cramped house. So, J.H., with Mrs. Pepper's approval, decides to send Jasper and all the Pepper children to boarding school so that Martha can't get a hold of Jasper. Of the children, Polly is the only one who J.H. and Mrs. Pepper tell the reason of being sent away to boarding school. At this new school, all the Pepper children are treated like lepers by the other children solely because of their poor background. However, Polly gets the worst treatment by her peers of other teen-aged girls, some of who will do whatever it takes to get rid of Polly and the other Peppers. Polly has to endure this treatment or risk losing Jasper to his Aunt Martha.
Trivia

The Pepper books were the inspiration for a brief series of feature films produced by Columbia Pictures in 1939 and 1940. The four films were vehicles for Columbia's juvenile star Edith Fellows, who played Polly. The rest of the children were Charles Peck as Ben, Tommy Bond of Our Gang as Joey, Robert Boyce "Bobby" Larson as Davie, and Dorothy Ann Seese as Phronsie.
The Pepper screenplays had little to do with the original books, but the four films were popular with moviegoers. The films remained in circulation for many years, and were frequently scheduled for children's film festivals and weekend matinees.

:
Edith Fellows was a mostly juvenile actress from 1929 to 1954. Her grandmother was tricked into thinking she could get her granddaughter into show business for , and she went to Hollywood with her, but it was a fake. But fortunately, she went to an audition in 1929 and got the part! She had many juvenile roles in the 1930s, with the best one in "
Pennies From Heaven
" in 1936. The highlight of her career was in a series of four films for Columbia about the "
Five Little Peppers
" in 1939 and 1940. Because she never grew past 4 foot 10 inches, she continued playing juvenile roles until 1955, when she essentially retired. In 1981, she returned to acting as a supporting actress on TV and she passed away in 2011 at the age of 88.

(with Bela Lugosi!), before moving on to film. Some of her movies include: Forbidden,

Tommy 'Butch' Bond was an actor from the 1930s to the 2000s. He is best known for his appearances in numerous Our Gang movies, as well as for playing Jimmy Olsen in 1948's "
Superman
" and 1950's "
Atom Man vs Superman
". Some of his other movies include: Libeled Lady, Battleground, Block Heads, This Land is Mine, and Tokyo Joe. He passed away in 2005 at the age of 79.
