    Description

    Straight from our brass
    (and silver) instrument
repair shop, our USED horns are brought back to life...All major dents are removed, joints re-soldered (if needed), patches repaired (if necessary) and the slides reworked.  Our horns may be buffed, but all are hand polished to a good shine and are in
    good playable
condition.  For the collector who is looking for an instrument; we try to keep the original parts whenever possible; if the playability is good, we feel it should be left to the buyer's discretion to replace parts as desired.  We are proud to offer this refurbished instrument for sale.
We have tried to describe it as it is, and have shown what we can in the pictures allowed. We are happy to answer any questions
    asked.  #15/2017
Up for sale is a Silver-plated and gold-leafed 1918 York and Sons Professional Tenor Trombone made in Grand Rapids Mich. The serial # is 510xx. The bell is beautifully engraved and has a gold washed inner bell. There are various small dings and pings throughout, with a slight wave of the bell rim.  There is some wear-through and pitting at the grips, neck brace, tuning crook and slide crook.  The slide action is good, especially for the age of the instrument.  There is mild wear-through of the silver-plate on the inner slides.  This instrument has the normal original bronze stockings of the period, which are in good shape with good compression.
The neck to slide connection is a friction-fit.
The horn comes with a used case and mouthpiece(may not be the one pictured).
The instrument is not lacquered; therefore, it may have to be polished periodically (we recommend using Weiman METAL Polish).
The slide bore is .468/.468, with 7" bell flare. This is a great horn in very nice condition and plays beautifully, with a silky smooth full tone.  It has good intonation, good power, and slots well. Thanks for looking and check out our other items!
