    Description

This is a Folding Hand Fan celebrating the winning of the war between Japan and Russia that took place in 1905.
The following is the description by Japanese individual, located in Japan, from which the fan was purchased in 1999:
...Commemorative review fan with English (& Japanese) stamp.  The fan is a printed facsimile of a poem by Admiral Heihachiro Togo (and so signed on the last line).  The poem basically reads, "Honor and obedience to the Emperor brings domination to the 8 corners of the globe and the 4 seas" (it looks like the Japanese had a different view of the world!).  The stamp says in English "Triumphant Military Review 1906".  In Japanese it says, "Commemorative Army parade, glorious war deeds in War, Meiji 38 year, dated today April 30."
The fan has 10 bamboo sticks 10" long and opens to 16-1/4" and has a steel rivet.
